Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?

To book an appointment at Zedbelly, please complete the online contact form.

Fill out the contact form with your name, contact information (phone number and/or email address), and any specific details or preferences regarding your tattoo.

Once I receive your contact form, I will review your request and get in touch with you as soon as possible. I prioritise contacting clients in the order their requests are received. During our initial call or meeting, we will further discuss your tattoo design, placement, size, and any other relevant details.

Please note that an initial consultation is mandatory and submitting the contact form does not guarantee an immediate appointment. I strive to accommodate clients’ preferences, but availability may vary depending on schedule and existing bookings.

Zedbelly operate solely on a prebooked appointment basis and do not accept walk-in appointments. I have implemented this policy to ensure that I can provide clients with the best possible experience and dedicate the necessary time and attention to each individual tattoo.

To book an appointment, please visit the contact page and follow the instructions outlined in the booking process. You will be required to complete an online contact form, providing your name, contact information, and any specific details or preferences regarding your desired tattoo.

The cost of getting a tattoo at Zedbelly is based on a day rate, which is currently set at £550. This means that the price for your tattoo will depend on the estimated time required to complete the design.

During the consultation process, I will work closely with you to understand your vision, discuss the design details, size, placement, and complexity of the tattoo. Based on this information, I will provide an estimate of the number of sessions and the overall cost involved.

It’s important to note that certain factors, such as the intricacy of the design, the size of the tattoo, your pain tolerance, and the location on your body, can influence the time required to complete the artwork. This, in turn, will affect the final cost.

To secure your tattoo appointment, a £100 deposit is required. Zedbelly accept payment via cash or bank transfer.

Yes, however, it is important to ensure that the scar has fully healed before proceeding with a tattoo. Scar tissue takes time to mature and stabilise, and the healing process can vary from person to person, therefore Zedbelly will only tattoo over scars that have had a minimum of 3 years to fully heal.

During the consultation process, I will assess the scar and discuss your tattoo ideas and expectations. I will evaluate the texture, colour, and overall condition of the scar to determine if it is suitable for tattooing.

It’s worth noting that tattooing over scars may require specific techniques, adjustments in ink application, and careful attention to detail to achieve the desired results.

I would encourage you to schedule a consultation to discuss your scar and tattoo design in detail, where I’ll provide personalized guidance, answer any additional questions you may have, and work with you to create a tattoo that honours your scar and reflects your unique story.

Yes. Zedbelly specialise in cover-up tattoos and can help you transform an existing tattoo into a new design.

During a consultation, I will examine your existing tattoo, taking into consideration factors such as size, colour, placement, and design. I will work with you to understand your preferences, ideas, and any specific elements you would like to incorporate into the new design.

Based on the consultation, I will create a customized cover-up design and carefully select colours, shading, and placement to effectively conceal the existing tattoo and create a beautiful, cohesive result.

It’s important to note that cover-up tattoos may require more time, planning, and design considerations compared to a regular tattoo. The success of a cover-up largely depends on factors such as the size, colour, and density of the existing tattoo. In some cases, multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve the desired outcome.

I value all client needs and strive to accommodate schedule changes whenever possible.

If you need to reschedule your tattoo session, I kindly request that you provide at least one week’s notice in advance. This advanced notice allows me to make the necessary adjustments to my schedule and offer your original appointment slot to another client.

To reschedule your tattoo session, please contact me directly as soon as possible. I will work with you to find a new suitable date and time for your appointment.

Any tattoo session booked at Zedbelly will have a minimum charge of half a day rate (£300) regardless of the size or complexity of the tattoo design.

The minimum charge ensures that I can cover my time, expertise, equipment, and materials required for each tattoo session.

No. If you have a specific design in mind, I would be more than happy to work with you to bring it to life, however Zedbelly do not tattoo pre-existing designs. If you have a fully detailed design or just a rough concept, I will collaborate with you to refine and create a custom, unique tattoo.

During your consultation, please bring any reference materials, sketches, or images that inspire your design. This will help me to understand your vision and incorporate your ideas into the final tattoo. I will offer my expertise and artistic guidance to ensure that the design is well-suited for tattooing and results in a stunning, personalized piece.

If you have any specific design requirements or questions, please reach out to me via the contact page.

Preparing for your tattoo appointment is essential to ensure a smooth and successful tattooing experience. Here are some important steps to follow in preparation for your visit to Zedbelly tattoo studio:

  • Hygiene and Skin Care: Cleanse the area of your body where you plan to get the tattoo. Ensure that the skin is free from any lotions, oils, or other substances. It’s also important to avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds in the weeks leading up to your appointment.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin tends to hold ink better, leading to better tattoo results.
  • Get Enough Rest: Prioritize getting a good night’s sleep before your appointment. Being well-rested can help you feel more relaxed and make the tattooing process more comfortable.
  • Eat: It’s important to eat before your tattoo session. Eating a balanced meal will help maintain your energy levels and make you feel more comfortable during the process.
  • Dress Appropriately: Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area you plan to get tattooed. Loose-fitting clothing can be helpful, especially if the tattoo will be on a body part that requires removal or adjustment of clothing.
  • Avoid Alcohol and Blood Thinners: Refrain from consuming alcohol or taking blood-thinning medications or substances before your appointment. These can increase bleeding during the tattooing process and affect the final result.
  • Bring Valid ID: It is important to bring a valid form of identification, such as a passport or driver’s license, to verify your age and comply with legal requirements.
  • Communicate: If you have any specific concerns or questions about the tattoo process or aftercare, please don’t hesitate to discuss them with me.

During your tattoo appointment at Zedbelly, I will strive to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for you. Here’s what you can generally expect during your tattoo appointment:

Welcome and Consultation: When you arrive at Zedbelly, I will greet you and guide you through the process. If you haven’t had a consultation already, I will discuss your design, placement, and any modifications you may want to make. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect to our media system to play any of your favourite music.

Setting Up and Sterilization: I will prepare the workstation, ensuring that it is clean and sterile. I will use new, single-use needles, and follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure your safety throughout the process.

Placement and Stencil: Once we have finalized the design, I will carefully position a stencil or draw the design directly on your skin. This allows me to visualize how the tattoo will look and make any necessary adjustments before the actual tattooing begins.

Tattooing Process: I will work at a pace that ensures precision and attention to detail, while also considering your comfort. You may feel some discomfort or sensation during the process, which can vary depending on your pain tolerance and the location of the tattoo.

Communication and Breaks: Throughout the tattooing process, feel free to communicate if you need a break, have any concerns, or require any adjustments. Open communication ensures that you have a positive experience and achieve the desired results.

Aftercare Instructions: Once the tattoo is complete, I will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions. I’ll explain how to properly clean and care for your tattoo to promote healing and prevent complications. It’s essential to follow these instructions diligently to ensure the best possible outcome.

Payment and Booking Follow-up: After your tattoo session, you will proceed with payment. I’ll also provide any necessary information regarding follow-up appointments if needed.

It’s important to remember that each tattoo appointment is unique, and the process may vary depending on factors such as the size, complexity, and placement of the tattoo. I will guide you through each step and ensure that you are comfortable and informed throughout the entire process.
